How It Helps

This calculator helps teams estimate realistic delivery capacity from staffing level, available hours, and utilization assumptions rather than optimistic calendar-time estimates.

A practical baseline is: Capacity = People x Available hours x Utilization. This is useful for sprint planning, workload balancing, project staffing, and resource-allocation discussions where demand must be compared against practical execution capacity.

For better planning accuracy, model overhead explicitly: meetings, support load, coordination time, onboarding, and context switching. Small utilization changes can materially alter forecasted throughput.
